June 3rd, Kayenta, AZ - Bluff, UT
Day 10,

We finally were going to cross out of Arizona today. Our destination for the night was Bluff, UT and we were all very excited to ride. On our way to Bluff, Justin and myself saw several people running on the road with a torch in their hand. After passing a few riders we stopped to talk to a few of them. We spoke with a woman from the Czech Republic, a woman from Great Britain, and a man from Australia. The cause was called World Harmony Run and they were simply running for world peace across every state in the Continental U.S. We exchanged information about both our causes and were both refreshd by our conversations. We even later ran into a Mexican man who was cycling from Canada to South America. And he was self supported, that dude was the man!
We met with my parents for dinner at our campground and met another interesting character. His name was Rick and he was no taller than 5’6. He had participated in several Alzheimer’s memory walks in Prescott, AZ. He was a little confused and kept asking me questions about Tennessee even though I had told him I was from Kentucky five times. So, I just answered his questions about Tennessee from then on.
I was very fortunate to have some time to spend with my parents that night. I am so inspired by their humble hearts and willingness to serve us by taking two weeks out of their time to support our ride. I hope one day I can love a child as much as they do and I hope I am able to help young people like they have in their time on our trip.
